Google To Shut Down Play Music for YouTube Music Soon

Google has announced that Google Play Music will no longer be available by as early as December 2020.
The music streaming site will be replaced by YouTube Music.
This announcement was made this week.
“Users will have the opportunity to transfer their music libraries from Google Play Music to YouTube Music in that timeframe.”
“In the coming months, Google Play Music users will not be able to use or stream from or use Google Play Music.”
South Africa and New Zealand will be the first to be cut off as early as end of August.
Other markets will follow shortly from October.
However, users have until December to move their music libraries even though they wouldn’t be using the platform to stream.
“Starting in Late August, users will no longer be ale to purchase or pre-order music or upload and download music from Google Play Music through Music Manager.”
Google said users who haven’t yet transferred their content “now’s the time.”
There is an option to delete your entire Play Music data.
YouTube music has been created to rival the likes of Spotify and iTunes etc.
South Africans can be able to Subscribe for R59,99pm, with a 1-month free trial.
