Samthing Soweto Amagents Goes Gold Ahead Of Tour
Multi-award-winning singer Samthing Soweto’s Amagents is now certified Gold in preparation for his Now or Never tour kicking off soon.
Samkelo Mdolomba, affectionately known as Samthing Soweto is one of SA’s most loved musical talents.
Amagents is Samthing Soweto’s latest song, which is only two weeks old but is spreading across the country like wildfire.
“It’s gold now, #Amagents is gold.” Writes Samthing Soweto on socials.
He thanked everyone for listening to the song and it “truly makes me happy”.
The song has over 1.2 million streams across all digital platforms.
Recently he was reacting to the song topping the charts of on Apple Music.
“Thank you so much for the overwhelming love and support you have all shown me by listening to this song,” reacting on Twitter.
‘Amagents’ is a South African slang for boys, which has been derived from the word ‘gents’.
The singer describes the song as “A simple yet complex message from a Father to his DAUGHTER.”
Samthing Soweto Amagents
Samthing Soweto first previewed Amagents in January 2022.
It was one of 3 songs that he previewed on Instagram, which he asked his fans for thier opinions.
Out of the three snippets he posted, the second one, which is now known as Amagents was the clear winner.

“I am gonna release Amagents…you guys are loud and clear,” he said back in February.
Following its release, it was one of the most played songs on radio, which is nothing new for this singing sensation.
The official audio hit 1 million views on YouTube in 8 days, and at the date of publishing has 1.6 million views.

Now Or Never Tour
Fans have been yearning to see Samthing Soweto perform live for the first time in a while and it is finally happening.
Now or Never Tour will have Samthing Soweto performing some of his biggest songs coming to four different cities.
In January he asked his fans to choose songs which they think he should perform live, and many of them did.
“Thank you so much for sending the tracklist, I will announce the dates (for the tour) next week,” he said at the beginning of the year.
As it stands, Joburg and Cape Town are the first shows confirmed to be taking place, with two more coming soon.
Pretoria will be the first to kick off the tour on July 23rd.
“The Pretoria show is the Joburg show, I just decided on the State Theatre because I’ve never played there.” Says the Amagents singer.
Even though the tour will first take place in Pretoria, it is called the Joburg show, since the singer has played at the Joburg Theatre before.
Cape Town fans will get to sing along to their favourite songs by Samthing Soweto in October.
Two more Cities are to be announced, one in the Eastern Cape and hopefully Durban will also have dates announced.
