Canadian born international singer Justin Beiber has announced that half of is face is paralysed.
The ‘What do you mean’ singer posted a very disturbing video on Instagram on Friday night.
“I love you guys and keep me in your prayers,” he captioned the Instagram post.
In the video the singer can be seen blinking with only one eye, with the other eye still.
“As you can probably see from my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome,” he said.
“Has caused my face to have paralysis.”
Throughout the very short video, Justin was demonstrating what is happening to his face.
He seemingly was trying to remember what he was trying to say next, saying a lot of ‘uhms’.
“There is full paralysis to this side of my face.”
Why is Justin Beiber’s Face Paralysed?
Half of Justin Beiber’s face is currently paralysed due to Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
According to NORD, it is a rare neurological disorder characterized by paralysis of the facial nerve (facial palsy) and a rash affecting the ear or mouth.
It is caused by the same virus that causes either chickenpox, usually in kids, and shingles in adults, called varicella zoster virus (VZV).
“In most cases, only one side of the face is affected (unilateral),” says the Rare Diseases Organization.
Will Justin Beiber cancel South African Tour?
Justin Bieber is supposed to be headed to South Africa to tour in September and October.
He is due to perform in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.

“My body is telling me I gotta slow down.”
Bieber has announced that he is suspending his Justice World Tour, just weeks before heading to South Africa.

“I hope you guys understand.”
“I will be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100% so I can do what I was born to do,” says Beiber wrapping up the video.
He says he is doing facial exercises in the meantime to get his face back to normal.
