South African singer/Songwriter Ami Faku trended atop of Twitter on Tuesday, following rumours of her death.

This social media rage was sparked by a Facebook post.

“Rest in peace Ami Faku” read the post.

The post was then liked by hundreds of people with many rushing to Twitter to try and confirm the news.

Ami Faku is not dead, she is very much alive.

Ami took to twitter to react to the news in just three words.

“What the f*ck??” she tweeted.

Many fans tweeted in relief to the news with some making jokes about it.

However, this comes in just hours after her new song with Emtee reached a huge milestone.

‘Lala Ngoxolo’ has been streamed over a quarter of a million times since its release on Jan 29.

The song is about remembering those who have passed on, something that Ami’s fans don’t have to say anytime soon.

“Thanks to all of you” Ami thanked her fans for streaming the song.
